30 Days of Blogging: Day 20
Following the lead of fellow blogger @Kristoffrable I wanted to post my top 10 Guilty Pleasure songs. Now, I have to be honest here, I have MANY more then just these. In fact, I won’t play my phone’s MP3 player on shuffle in public because of the potential shame (I am an easy mark for music with a repetitive beat) ! So, for today, here are my song, perhaps later guilty pleasure musical artists, and then later, TV shows! And you know that I secretly sing to ALL of these in my car…
10) “Payphone” by Maroon 5
GAH! I LOVE THIS SONG! It’s so catchy! Adam Levine is smoking hot! (pun intended here, if you’ve seen the video). I have been known to channel surf just to find this song. Also, one of these days I will get the rap section down, yeah! (I had to stop writing this review to watch the video ha ha!)
9) “Call Me Maybe” Carly Rae Jespen
This one was a “write in” from my friends on Facebook. Does anyone think it is mildly stalkerish and slightly creepy! My kind of song! Also, I want her hair from the video…
8) “Love at First Sight” by Kylie Minogue
What made me love KM even more was knowing that my best friend, Jesse and her have the same birthday. Jess used to put up with me blasting her in our shared studio, and occasionally having a dance party! And seriously, tell me if you’re having a dance party that you wouldn’t have this song!!!
7) “Believe” by Cher
This one needs absolutely no explanation. Cher is the QUEEN of guilty pleasure music!
6) “Like a Prayer” by Madonna
I LOVED this song as a kid. Early Madonna is WAAAY better then anything she produces now. I remember knowing that the song was totally wrong, but completely awesome. Several of her early songs had to fight for this spot, including “Material Girl” and “Cherish”. Nothing is as awesome as when the first cords of this song hits though. +1 to nerdity because I will sing this at Karaoke if you buy me a drink or three (not an easy song to sing!).
5) “Living on a Prayer” by Bon Jovi
All Hail the only men on this list! You can’t make a post about guilty pleasure songs and leave off the Jovi! Not only is this song EPIC, but I love it when at parties with certain friends that they tend to sing it with wooden spoons and shirtless (all guys!). Good times! Anyone else missing that 80′s hair?!
4) “Toxic” by Britney Spears
Oh, quit whining now, you had to KNOW she would be on here! Ms Spears is my hate to love, secretly buying her albums in the dark of night from a less then reputable WalMart. I JUST CAN’T HELP MYSELF. Every time there is a new album, I try to resist to no avail. Why “Toxic” over all the others? Cause I’m Toxic baby, yeah!! Wait, what?!
3) “Blow” by Ke$ha
This song was AMAZING even before it became the theme song for “Burn Notice”, and then it became EPIC. She’s ape-shit crazy, and puts Unicorns in videos…need I say more? One has a eye patch?! EVEN BETTER.
2) “Telephone” by Lady Gaga f. Beyonce
This is my ringtone. This song also incites full on car dance party. I may know ALL OF THE WORDS.
1) “The Sign” by Ace of Base
This should be on EVERY LIST. I love Trashy European Pop. In fact, I would move to Europe just to get to listen to it first. I may know a dance to this. And no, you will NEVER see it.

Whats YOUR Guilty Pleasure Song?!
June 26, 2012 at 1:59 am
Wow Sweet a guilty pleasure listing I have to say I have some of these on my … well not so guilty pleasure list because frankly I dont really care wether people know I like crappy pop music
I cant really put things like this in order but I will come up with 10 songs that are kinda embarassing that I absolutely am a sucker for
First a re-hash of ones lindsey already mentioned
– Lady Gaga – Telephone
– Britney spears – Toxic
– Kylie Minogue – Love at First Sight
gotta say that those 3 are great songs for rockin out
As for the others I too have Ke$ha on my list but I have to say CANNIBAL is my favorite from here but there are others like that one with Jesus on my necklace, and some others … I am somewhat ashamed to say that I own both of her CD’s
Katie Perry – E.T. , and Firework to be fair should be on the list too
Black Eyed Peas – where is the love I’m sorry but I love that song and would probobly defend it in an argument
Maroon 5 – Moves Like Jagger … Dude
Gym Class Heroes – Stereo Hearts it’s just so catchy … dont make me think about the lyrics it will get stuck in my head for a week
Martin Solveig & Dragonette – Hello I think it was in a commercial at some point and it has quite possibbly the most repetitive lyrics ever but I’m a universalist when it comes to easy to listen to bite sized pop music
Lastly LMFAO – either Party Rock Anthem or Sexy and I know it both are so catchy and they for some reason remind me of kaiju big battle so in my book they rule
